‘Reflex provides us with a good, reliable application which allows coaches to reserve meeting spaces online. Furthermore, they continue to develop, regularly add new functions and are open to suggestions,’ says Roel van der Land, one of the two founders of Het Coachhuis. This company offers coaching spaces, meeting rooms, and group space for rent at more than one hundred locations in the Netherlands.
New business concepts
After working at KPN for 17 years, Roel van der Land switched careers in 2008. His greatest passion is bringing new business concepts to life, together with the right partners. During the process of shaping this idea he was coached by Jan Molenkamp, who mainly helps starting entrepreneurs. Molenkamp knew from his own experience that most coaches, being small independent entrepreneurs, cannot afford their own office or workspace. They worked out the concept of Het Coachhuis together: a company that offers affordable and flexible work spaces.
From the cloud
Starting in a private house at the end of 2008, Het Coachhuis grew gradually to more than one hundred locations at present, with a number of premises managed by the company itself and alongside these also landlords in a franchise structure. Currently, the business has approximately 2500 members who pay a fixed amount annually and rent space as needed. ‘When we started with a second location, we started to work with Reflex for the online reservation of spaces,’ says van der Land, who has a background in IT himself. ‘The philosophy of working with a standard cloud based application appealed to us.’
Non-customized work for a reason
Het Coachhuis did not choose for customized work for a reason. ‘Then you continuously have to adapt and you are dependent on such a package. Furthermore, we currently do not have to worry about the programming and the maintenance, and it enables us to work with a fixed IT-budget. On the other hand, standardized software often does not exactly do what you want it to do. However Reflex is flexible and modifies the programming as much as possible to meet our wishes. They also continue to develop, regularly add new functions and are open to suggestions.’
Smartphone and tablet
As an example, Van der Land mentions the switch to mobile use, which is currently well underway. ‘Reflex has ensured that the software works excellently on devices such as smart phones and tablets.’ Reflex has also created a handy connection to the invoice system that Het Coachhuis uses (Cash Software), so that all users receive a monthly invoice. ‘In close consultation with Reflex, we are also currently working on connecting external calendars, in order to synchronize things even better,’ says Van der Land. ‘All-in-all, Reflex has been a very reliable over the past six years, which helps us to improve our business processes.’
